Tropical forests reminiscent of Africa, cobalt blue waters reminiscent of the Caribbean, architecture with European and Indian influences are uniquely combined in Mauritius. The pearl of the Indian Ocean lies north of the tropic of Capricorn, northeast of the coasts of Africa and Madagascar. An exotic destination with vast stretches of sugar cane, impressive plateaus, immaculate beaches and numerous coral reefs for the lovers of submarine life. Your journey on Mauritius has just began…
Its vast coastline is famous for the amazing resorts that reflect the beauty of the island. White sandy beaches and tall mountain peaks on the southwest, remote beaches, small private bays and turquoise lagoons on the west, east and north.
In every step along your journey in Mauritius you’ll be impressed by the never-ending contrasts – natural and artificial – and by the mixture of liberal creole civilization, conservative british tradition and elements of the indian lifestyle on an island which is blessed by nature. The first destination in Mauritius is the capital of the island Port Louis. From dawn till early in the evening life is overly intense. Here you’ll see the rare specimens in the National History Museum, the Jummah Mosque and you’ll climb up the british Citadel Fort Adelaide in order to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Port Louis harbor that looks like a children playground.
At night all the districts of Port Louis are calm, apart from Le Caudan Waterfront district, where you’ll find restaurants, cafes, bars, big clubs and casinos. Drink rum and dance till morning comes to the sound of the local sega music as well as international hits and watch the magnificent sunrise as the sun comes up on the Indian Ocean.
Although the beaches are its main attraction, Mauritius has more sights to offer to its visitors. A delightful, must-see destination during your journey on Mauritius is the Black River Gorges National Park. Tall cone trees, the river, running waters, gorges rare animal species. A heaven on Earth!
You should also visit Domain de la Pailles, where you’ll see british architecture buildings. Another destination that is worth visiting is Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens, but also the seven waterfalls in a row along the route from Curepipe to Tamarin ending up in a dreamlike lake!
Mauritius, with a population of somewhat over one million people, has a large variety of hotel establishments that meet the needs of all visitors, especially those of newly-weds and families. Cheerful staff, impeccable service and amazing facilities create an ideal travel destination. During your journey on Mauritius you can enjoy yourselves, try a variety of watersports such as windsurfing – the island is a surfer’s paradise – scuba dive, go on a catamaran cruise and you can also relax in a spa. During your journey on Mauritius you’ll enjoy colors, scents and sweet life.
